Short version: Countersign doesn’t collect your data. Your PDFs are opened, edited and saved on your own device, and are never uploaded.

Your documents

When you open a PDF in Countersign, your browser reads it straight from your device. Everything you add, and the finished PDF you download, is created inside your browser. Your files are never sent to us or to anyone else, and we can’t see them.

Your saved signatures

To save you time, Countersign remembers up to four of your most recent signatures. They are stored only in your browser’s local storage on the device you used, and are never sent anywhere.

To remove them:

No cookies, accounts or tracking

Countersign doesn’t use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and there are no accounts. The page loads no scripts, fonts or images from other websites.

Website hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like nearly every website host, they may keep standard server logs when you load the page, such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. These logs are about visiting the website, not about your documents, which never reach the server. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for details.

The offline version

If you download countersign-offline.html and open it from your computer, no server is involved at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
